I. Profile, Advantages and Characteristics of Disciplines
Business Administration belongs to management categories and targets on social micro-economic organizations and systematically researches common rules and application methods on management activities. Concretely, the Business Administration discipline, with research objects being issues in organization operating and managing and with the researching approaches mainly including mathematical analysis and case analysis such as statistics, operations research which are based on the theories of economics and behavior science, probes and figures out the formation,feature of various decisions in enterprises and the connections among them, and then explores, generalizes and concludes rules and management techniques that can assist in promoting efficiency and effectiveness from the above researches. Business administration academic research aims at improve the development of the society and economy, through providing theoretical support and scientific instructions for enterprises in their operative decision-making and practical management activities, cultivating talents in different managing fields, increasing management and operation efficiency as well as promoting sustainable development of enterprises.
Discipline of Business Administration, abiding by national demands and serving for constructions of regional economy and covering three fields of basic research, applied basic research and applied research, has formed characteristic and stable research fields including small and medium-sized enterprise management, organizational behavior and human resources, corporate finance and accounting, logistics and supply chain management, corporate governance and capital operation, project appraisal and management, entrepreneurship and enterprise growth, regional and industry economy management, and strategy of metal resources. With youth and medium aged faculty which are leader in discipline research, a large number of brilliant talents have been trained here from abundant graduate training experience after many years’ accumulation. A large number of national or provincial prizes of scientific researches, upon the outcomes of these researching fields, have been awarded while a serial of significant national and provincial and academy-enterprise-cooperating projects were successfully conducted with ample researching funds, leading Chinese universities in the overall level of Business Administration.
II. Cultivation Objective
The education goals of this discipline are to cultivate talents featured by high virtuousness and all-round competence, who are equipped with comprehensive and solid knowledge about economics, management and specialized basic theories of business administration and acquisition of relevant academic researching approaches. Doctors have to be familiar with the specialized academic research development and theoretic research fronts. Awareness and abilities of innovation have to be polished up while widening academic version and sticking to rigorous studying attitude. Moreover, brains of high qualities in both researches and pragmatic management issues who can adapt themselves to requirements in management and relevant fields are our goals as well. These goals can be specified as:
(1) Excellent skills in querying and reading relevant academic literature of both Chinese and English; mastery of data processing technologies and research methods of Business Administration discipline; apprehensions of academic development in the field of Business Administration subject and other related subjects and the major issues in academic research fronts;
(2) Widely understanding of the latest international changes in related fields; abilities to research on specialized topics and complete them independently; putting forward some new and accurate notions, theories and methods with innovation so as to solve significant and practical issues with these latest research outcomes;
(3) Grasping methods of teaching and personnel training; opening class for masters and undergraduates of Business Administration independently and achieving good teaching effects;
